Mohammed bin Rashid appoints Abdulla Al Habbai as Chairman of Dubai Holding

- Al Habbai to continue serving in current position as Group Chairman of Meraas

Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum today appointed HE Abdulla Al Habbai as the Chairman of Dubai Holding.

In addition to the new role, Al Habbai will continue to serve in his current position as Group Chairman of Meraas.

HH Sheikh Mohammed said: “As a business leader who has steered major projects that have contributed to realising Dubai’s and the UAE’s growth vision, Abdulla Al Habbai is ideally placed to lead Dubai Holding in its next phase of growth. He has a proven record of successfully delivering projects that have supported the development of key sectors. I am confident that his extensive experience and expertise will enable him to steer Dubai Holding in achieving new levels of industry development and innovation.”   

His Highness further said that Dubai Holding will continue to be a key contributor to the next phase of the UAE’s diversification and innovation strategy. It is important that Dubai Holding continues to invest in projects and initiatives that will deliver new creative, infrastructural and technological excellence, and add value to the knowledge-based economy, in line with the UAE’s ambitious growth plans, he added.

HE Abdulla Al Habbai extended his gratitude to His Highness for the trust and confidence he has placed in him. He said Dubai Holding has delivered several landmark projects that have helped raise the country’s global profile and made it a prominent investment hub. Al Habbai said he is committed to continue working to further enhance Dubai Holding’s contributions to the economy.
